Mango Moramba is a traditional Indian Dessert with ripe mangoes bursting with tangy flavor which can be simply served as a side dish. Mango Moramba is generally made of raw mangoes but today I have prepared ripe Mango Moramba or Mango Marmalade. It is a preservative with sugar syrup which is flavoured with cloves. There are various methods to prepare Marmalade, but here it is quick recipe with just 4 major ingredients. This one is enjoyed by kids and adults.
Ingredients
1) 2 Diced Mangoes |
2) 1:1 ratio of mango and Sugar |
3) Saffron Strands |
4) 3-4 Cloves |
5) 1/2 cup water |
How To Make Mango Moramba ?
- Peel the 2 mangoes and remove the seed and dice it. You can slice it according to your requirement, but it should be chunky, not too thin.
2) In a Thick bottom pan, put sugar into it and pour 1/2 cup of water inside it. Stir it well until it gets thick. You should stir it continuously. Take the sugar syrup on your thumb and index finger and check it thickness.
3) Once it comes to its boiling point, add saffron strands to it for the flavour. After that add the diced mangoes and stir it continuously. The mixture becomes slightly watery as the water releases from the mango.
4) Let the bubbles settle down, it helps to cook the mangoes properly which becomes more tastier and translucent.
5) Don’t overcook the mango otherwise the melted sugar gets crystalized.
Fill up the jar with the Mango Marmalade up to the rim. You can keep itin a dry place for months. Do give a try and let me know soon.
