Pune is one of the best metropolitian cities within India. You can spend your whole day by exploring some new things around pune if you are a newbee. Pune is my second home town to live. So I would like to take you through my experience for spending a day within this beautiful city.
A Day started with trekking to Sinhagad Fort
Me and my friends started to trek at 3 AM on Saturday from Atkarwadi. It is a base village from where normally the trek ascend. It is one of the common route to reach the sinhagad fort. We parked our bikes at the starting point that costs Rs 20 for two wheeler and Rs 50 for four wheeler.
This trek is generally a moderate level and it is preferred by the locals especially during weekends. Sinhagad is originally known as Kondhana. It has its ancient history during the period of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Besides, it also features the memorial of great leader Tanaji Malusare. The trekking route is almost 7 km from the base village.
How to reach Sinhagad Fort?
By Bus : – There is an hourly bus service from Swargate to Atkarwadi base village that will drrop you to the location.
By Airport :- Pune Airport is the nearest airport. You will have to take a private cab to catch the bus from swargate to reach to your final spot.
By road :- Google map is one of the best solution for you if you are travelling within pune city.
Things to Do
- Taste delicious local food – Local people sell many fruits and sweet corns along the trek route. Meanwhile, there are many stalls where people sell Maggi, Kanda bhaji(Onion fritters) , Pitala Bhakari(gram flour curry), berries, Thecha(spicy pickle) and many more items. You can also try Lassi and buttermilk if you are thirsty. Steamed corns and groundnuts are the best when you trek. You can also try something frozen like kulfi and yogurt.
- Sightseeing – There are many spots while you trek or visit this fort like Tanaji Kada, Kade Lot, Pune Darwaza, Khadakwasla Dam, Chhatrapati Rajaram’s tomb.
By 9 am we have started descending the trek, but this time we went from the public transport that were arranged by the locals till the base village. So I thought of saving my time as I wanted to explore more within a single day. By 10-10.15 we did reach at the base village and we headed towards khadakwasla Dam.
Khadakwasla Dam
It is one of the major dam in pune city that provides water supply within the whole city and some of the suburbs. It is one of the perfect place to relax and calm your mind after many chores. There are lot of eatery options nearby like maggi, fritters, bhelpuri, sweet corn and lemon juice. Every shop have provided a sitting area under the shed so that we can enjoy our food with a magnificent view.
Best time to visit khadakwasla dam is during the monsoon but ideally you can visit from December to March. Nearby attractions are Panshet and Sinhagad fort. After spending a quality time near the dam we straight away headed towards the famous cafe of FC road.
Morning Breakfast : Cafe GoodLuck
We had our special breakfast in Cafe Goodluck which is in Fergusson college road known as FC Road. This is one of the popular cafe within pune city and specially known for Bun Maska & Chai and Bun Omelette. During weekends you will find the queue, but the wait is worth to enjoy such a mouthwatering dishes with your friends or family.
Butterfly Trampoline Park Pune
After doing some exciting adventure I finally planned to do some more fun and explore a child within myself. So I decided to plan a nice evening with my office colleagues at this trampoline park. After taking a nap I planned to meet them by 1 pm within the trampoline park.
There are some special offers on specific days and also if you post the details on your facebook about visiting this butterfly park then there is 5% discount on whole group tickets. During weekends the prices differ. There are hourly based charges plus GST amount and they also provide socks which are mandatory. They also, take charges for those socks. We were charged almost 890 INR for 2 hours on weekends(including).
There are different areas like toddlers play zone, Music and dance floor, Jump and play section, cafeteria and party hall. There is no age bar but only above 3 years of age. It is a must go place and can have one hell of a time. On second floor there is a Foosball, drums can be played by anyone and the boxing gloves.
Unleash your soul and immerse yourself into unforgettable moments.
Overall, it is one of the pleasant experience that I had. Also, staffs are very helpful and friendly. And one can burn their calories and can have fun at the same time.
Day Ended with Dinner
My day ended with a special dinner with my close friends of my college. We decided to plan a dinner at some roof top places. So, we were looking for some of the restaurants and we got to know about these cool place which have a specific activity. And, we headed towards CLOVER HILL PLAZA.
