1. Amritsar – Golden Temple
Amritsar is located at Majha region that is 28 kms away from the border of Pakistan. The Golden Temple is India’s most religious serene and Sikhism’s holistic shrine. This is the entry gate of the Temple where we have to make a queue and then enter the temple. It was saddened to know that no cameras and photos are allowed inside the temple.
The temple is surrounded by a beautiful lake where all the holistic people take a dip in that lake. The official name of the temple is Harmandir sahib but, because the building is golden plated, so the Golden temple name was suggested for it.
This temple is not only a religious place but lively for brotherhood and equality. It doesn’t make any difference within the people who come to worship. They always give free food to the needy and also the tourist. They name it as Langars.
There are some rules that we need to follow while entering the temple. One cannot enter here without wearing a scarf or headscarves. If someone forgot to bring it, the sellers sell these headscarves at a cheap price. One should wash their hands and feets while entering the temple.
After visiting Golden Temple we also headed towards Jalianwala Baug which is hardly 10 kms away. It is known as Amritsar massacre. It is a historic garden and is preserved who gave their life in Jalianwala Baug Massacre in the festive of Vaisakhi.
