Veg momos are the delicacy of Nepal and popular as east Indian cuisine. Steamed momos are similar like the modak but differs in stuffing part. Originally momos were made in china and from there they made their way to Tibet, Nepal and now it is famous as Indian street food.
I specially love momos because of its taste and we can prepare momos in different types with different designs. In each and every areas momos are prepared in different types like Steamed momos, Fried momos, Tibetan momos and many more.
Earlier momos were not frequently made as they were seasonal to us like once in a blue moon. Then they are adapted by each and every Indian streets and we get these lovely momos across the Indian streets.
How to prepare Veg Momos ?
Veg Momos/Steamed momos are prepared using all purpose flour by adding vegetables as stuffing. You can also add meat of your own choice. Here I have shown 5 easy ways of making momos designs and are easy to prepare at home without steamer in cooker.

Ingredients
- 1 bowl of Maida
- 1 cup of cabbage
- 1/2 cup of bell paper
- 1 cup of onion
- 1/2 cup of spring onion(use 2 tbsp)
- 1/4 cup of carrot
- Salt to taste
- Olive oil 2 tbsp(can use vegetable oil 2 tbsp)
- 1 tsp pepper powder
- 1 tsp soya sauce
- coriander leaves
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tbsp green chilly paste
Steps to prepare Momos
- )So, these are the ingredients of momos. First take 1 bowl of all purpose flour and add 1 tbsp of salt and 2 tbsp of olive oil(vegetable oil) and mix it properly.
2) After mixing it properly, add water gradually and make the dough. Do not add water instantly as we are not going to make the dough soft.
3) The dough is ready and rest it for 10 minutes.
4) Add 1 tbsp of vegetable oil and add veggies like 1 cup of cabbage,1/4 cup of carrot, coriander leaves, 1/2 cup of bell paper, 2 tbsp of spring onion and put 1/2 tsp of soy sauce and pepper powder.
Tip :- Do not add more soya sauce as it would be salty to eat. Maintain balance of salt and soya sauce.
5) Make small chapati and roll it and make it transparent. Put the stuffing inside it. Make sure to add more stuffing as it will taste good.
